The "Dream Job" Reading Toolkit: Strategy #1 Deep Dive!

Earlier this week, we introduced the first secret to the Edu-Gator success: Read to Learn! While "learning to read" is about sounds and letters, "reading to learn" is where the magic happens for our #kindergarten - 2nd Graders!

When a child reads to learn, they aren't just looking at words—they are gathering "tools" for their future dream jobs. Whether they want to be a #doctor, an #astronaut, or a #teacher, they need to know how to pull facts from a page.

3 Ways to "Read to Learn" at Home:

• The Fact Finder: Read a non-fiction book about an animal or a place. Ask your scholar: "What is one new tool you learned for your dream job today?"

• Instruction Inspection: Read a recipe or Lego instructions together. Show them how reading helps us do big things!

• Dictionary Fun: When you hit a big word, look it up together.
