Riding Into Holiday Magic: Little Scholars Schools at the Southwest Little Rock Christmas Parade

The Gator Express brought smiles, spirit, and community togetherness to SWLR!

There are moments each year that remind us why community matters — why showing up, linking arms, and creating joy together changes the spirit of a neighborhood. This weekend’s Southwest Little Rock Christmas Parade was one of those moments. And Little Scholars Schools was honored to help bring holiday magic to our city with our beloved float, The Gator Express.

A Float Built With Heart (and a Lot of Hard Work!)

The Gator Express didn’t appear overnight — it was built piece by piece, with care in every corner. Mr. Cameron poured countless hours into constructing a float that was safe, sturdy, and beautifully designed. His craftsmanship allowed every rider, dancer, elf, and conductor to travel through the parade with confidence and pride.

And behind every great float is someone who keeps it moving — literally! Mr. Imani transported The Gator Express back and forth from its designated storage location and then safely drove our float and participants during the parade. His dedication ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

A Canvas of Creativity

The magic of The Gator Express truly came alive thanks to the talented individuals who painted and decorated it. Every snowflake, every brushstroke, every shimmering detail reflected creativity, teamwork, and pride in our school family. What began as a simple trailer transformed into a rolling Christmas wonderland — all because of the people who gave their time and imagination.

The Power of Volunteers

This year, we were blessed with an energetic group of teen volunteers coordinated by Ms. Lisette. Not only did they help paint and decorate, but several joined the parade — with one taking on the beloved role of The Gator Mascot, bringing laughs and excitement to children all along the parade route. Ms. Sharneisha ensured we all arrived to and from safely in the school van! Their service was a reminder that when young people step up, communities grow stronger.

A Visit From the North Pole

We cannot forget our very special guest — Santa Claus himself! Thanks to Mr. Sipe and his longstanding friendship with the man in red, Santa made a joyful appearance aboard The Gator Express, waving to families and bringing pure delight to the crowd. The sparkle in the children’s eyes said everything.

A Celebration of Community

As our float rolled down the streets of Southwest Little Rock, we were surrounded by families, neighbors, students, and supporters. Every float and performance in the parade contributed to a celebration that reminded us what makes this community special:unity, creativity, and a shared love for the families we serve.

Little Scholars Schools was proud to be part of an event that brought people together in laughter, joy, and holiday spirit. The Gator Express wasn’t just a float — it was a symbol of teamwork and a reflection of what we can accomplish when we come together.

Thank You, Gator Family

For every hand that built, painted, organized, participated, donated, cheered, or supported—thank you. Your kindness lit the way. You showed us once again that Little Scholars Schools is more than a school, and Southwest Little Rock is more than a place—it’s a family woven together in joy.
